Younger students loved dressing up as circus characters to parade around the 'town' (drama studio hall). And acting out a dramatic rescue when the Big Top fell down!
Children love working in pairs on a script which they then perform for the group (if they want to - no one HAS
to perform). It gives them the practice to go on to perform for an audience later in the term. A new script or improvisation each week keeps the fun fresh.

Lower primary classes loved becoming Cookie Kids! Simple, engaging, age-appropriate short plays every week allow children to develop projected voices, characterisation and communication skills (listening and focus skills too) whilst having tons of fun!
Laughter is the best rehearsal tool! Drama classes are full of fun, friendship, and plenty of giggles.
When we take the register it's not just a question of 'here' or 'not here'. We ask for creative answers. This week it was a collective noun for the student's name. And if they are stuck - other class members or the teacher help out with suggestions. No one is ever put under pressure.
55% of communication is non-verbal. We teach students to communicate with body and facial expression. Here are our younger students becoming clouds and lightning. They LOVED it!
It's strange but teens (and tweens) often find it more challenging to start a new activity than younger children. We provide that safe space where they can be themselves free of judgement. You don't have to be able to act - just enjoy being creative in your own way :)
